On December 4, actress Jung Ji-so appeared on YouTube channel Cho Hyun-ah’s Ordinary Thursday Night, where she shared memorable behind-the-scenes stories from the hit Netflix series The Glory.
Jung Ji-so, who played the younger version of Moon Dong-eun (Song Hye-kyo), opened up about her audition, filming process, and the emotional weight of portraying a school violence victim.

Jung Ji-so recalled being surprised even during auditions. “They asked me to try Dong-eun’s role on the spot. I didn’t expect much because I wondered, ‘Would I really be cast as Song Hye-kyo sunbaenim’s younger version?’ But there was an emotional crying scene, and I felt confident about that. I ended up sobbing intensely,” she said.
She also remembered asking the director a specific question that left a strong impression: “Without having read the adult Dong-eun’s script yet, I asked, ‘When she grows up and takes revenge, does she have any allies?’ I guess the director felt that I understood the arc of the story.”

Host Cho Hyun-ah reacted with surprise, saying it was “a question that showed real insight into the narrative.”
Jung Ji-so also revealed a fun but nerve-racking story from her very first shoot: the auditorium scene opposite Shin Ye-eun, who played young Park Yeon-jin.
“In real life, Ye-eun unnie has very sweet and lovely eyes,” Jung Ji-so said. “But when she got into character, her gaze was terrifying. I had to look straight at her and say, ‘My dream from today is you. We’ll meet again, Park Yeon-jin.’ But I was so scared that I looked slightly beside the camera lens instead.”

Her portrayal of young Moon Dong-eun was widely praised for its rawness and emotional impact. “I felt a big burden,” she admitted. “Even though I don’t know the real pain of school violence victims, I felt I had no right to play the role unless I fully committed to expressing that suffering.”
Jung Ji-so’s honest reflections once again highlight the emotional intensity behind [The Glory], a series that continues to resonate deeply with global audiences. Fans praised her ability to embody Dong-eun’s trauma and resilience, setting a strong foundation for Song Hye-kyo’s performance in the present timeline.
