“Queen of Tears” actress Kim Ji-won decorated the cover of fashion magazine COSMOPOLITAN and had a sincere interview

On April 17th, COSMOPOLITAN released a new cover and new pictorials of actress Kim Ji-won and praised the actress’s diverse expressions and poses for the shoot.

During the interview after the cover shoot, Kim Ji-won was asked about what she wanted to cherish forever, like jewelry that never loses its beauty over time. She replied, “As I get older, I can feel new values that emerge and replace the old ones”.

She added, “Through such repeated experiences, I came to have the attitude of learning new things every day and not insisting on the same thing. While portraying Hong Hae-in in the drama ‘Queen of Tears’, I learned to be honest and brave in all aspects of life”.

When asked to define love, Kim Ji-won shared, “Among Hae-in’s lines, there’s this saying, ‘To what I think, love is not about doing great things, but to be there for each other no matter what happens’. I liked it so much. I think love can be the strength for one not only in happy days but also in tough times when they feel exhausted and hit rock bottom”.

Kim Ji-won’s acting skills have gained recognition through the different kinds of characters she played throughout her filmography and imprinted clear images in viewers’ memories, from Yoon Myung-joo in “Descendants of the Sun”, to “My Liberation Notes” Yeom Mi-jeong and “Queen of Tears” Hong Hae-in.

In this regard, the actress shared, “Looking back on the characters I’ve portrayed, those are strong-minded and independent individuals I always wanted to cheer for. Like the viewers, I also learned a lot from such characters, who show strong beliefs and values in their thoughts.”

Regarding the question about the type of work and character she wants to try in the future, Kim Ji-won said, “I’ll do my best when given any chance to do anything, but I thought it would be great if I could challenge genre projects in the future. I really enjoyed watching Netflix’s crime drama ‘Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area’ and the thriller film ‘Chinatown’”.

Meanwhile, Kim Ji-won’s cover and more photos can be found in COSMOPOLITAN May issue and the interview is also available on the magazine’s website.
