Kim Jae Joong gives up on renewing contract with C-JeS?

Singer and actor Kim Jae Joong plans to depart from his agency, C-JeS Studio, which he has been with for 14 years.

Kim Jae Joong, former DBSK (TVXQ) member and current JYJ member and actor, has established himself as a core asset of C-JeS with his active career in Japan. However, on April 19th, The Fact’s investigation revealed that Kim Jae Joong, whose exclusive contract period with C-JeS is expiring this week, has no intention to renew it. If Kim Jae Joong truly does not renew his contract, he will finally be leaving his agency of 14 years.

With this, Kim Jae Joong will become the last member of JYJ, following Park Yoochun and Kim Junsu, to depart from C-JeS. It is said that the singer-actor has been considering focusing on his activities in Japan.

Regarding this, a close acquaintance of Kim Jae Joong stated, “Once the exclusive contract ends, he will not renew it any further,” denying any possibility of renewal. They also added, “From the point when the contract ends, it seems that he will prepare for his activities on his own.”

Recently, the industry had shown great interest in Kim Jae Joong’s contract renewal as his exclusive contract was expiring in April. This was due to the rumors of an IPO by C-JeS Studio later this year, and Kim Jae Joong’s moves naturally drew attention, as he is a key earner of the agency.

At that time, the agency also stated that a renewal was in discussion, giving strength to the rumors of Kim Jae Joong’s contract renewal.

On the other hand, C-JeS has been cautious about commenting on the contract renewal, saying, “It’s true that Kim Jae Joong’s contract period lasts until April this year, but as there is still time left in the contract period, we cannot make a definite statement.”
