kim jae hee battle of fates finale

A deeply emotional moment unfolded in the finale of Battle of Fates when rock vocalist Kim Jae Hee appeared as the final client and was confronted with a shocking spiritual claim: a shaman said his late wife had not yet left the world.

The final episode of Battle of Fatesa Disney+ reality program featuring fortune tellers competing to solve real-life cases — was released on March 4. The Top 3 participants, Seolhwa, Lee Sobin, and Yoon Daeman, faced their last mission: helping clients who had lost loved ones by uncovering unresolved emotions tied to the deceased.

Among the clients was Kim Jae Hee, known as the fourth-generation vocalist of the legendary Korean rock band Boohwal. His story immediately drew attention when he revealed a painful coincidence in his life: both his older brother, the late Kim Jae Ki, who had been the band’s third vocalist, and his wife share the same memorial date of August 11.

Kim Jae Hee’s wife passed away in 2022 after battling sarcoma, a rare cancer that affects bones and muscles. Speaking about the loss, he shared the emotional weight he had been carrying since her death.

Seolhwa, the fortune teller who selected Kim Jae Hee for the mission, stunned the studio when she claimed the spirit of his wife had not yet departed. According to the program, she began calling the deceased to the filming location, creating an eerie atmosphere among the panelists.

Soon after, Seolhwa’s demeanor reportedly changed dramatically. Crying uncontrollably, she spoke as if possessed, saying, “It’s unfair. I didn’t want to die like this.” Her emotional outburst left the studio silent as panelists reacted with visible shock.

The moment escalated when Seolhwa embraced Kim Jae Hee while sobbing, repeating that she had missed him. The singer, overcome with emotion, hugged her back as if comforting his late wife.

During the encounter, Seolhwa urged him not to give up on life. She called out the name of his daughter, “Byul,” saying she needed to be protected and cared for. Through tears, she continued pleading with him to promise that he would keep living.

“I was grateful. I loved you so much. Please raise Byul well. Promise you won’t die,” Seolhwa said while still appearing to channel the spirit.

Kim Jae Hee, visibly shaken, agreed through tears and promised to continue living for his daughter. As the intense exchange unfolded, panelists including comedian Park Na Rae and actress Park Ha Sun were also seen wiping away tears.

Even after calming down slightly, Seolhwa reportedly remained immersed in the moment, telling him, “Don’t try to live hard. Just live.”

In a later interview segment, she explained that the spirit seemed desperate to see him, saying the deceased appeared to keep staring at his face as if she could not bear to leave.

The haunting and emotional scene quickly became one of the most talked-about moments from Battle of Fates, leaving viewers both shocked and moved by the powerful display of grief, love, and unresolved loss.
