On January 27, the web variety show Salon Drip episode 124 featured Kim Hye Yoon alongside actor Lomon, who stars with her in the drama No Tail to Tell. During the episode, host Jang Do Yeon brought up actress Jung Ji Hyun, a close friend of Kim Hye Yoon who appeared on a legendary episode of Midnight Horror Story.
Kim Hye Yoon explained that Jung Ji Hyun is her college classmate and longtime best friend, adding, “We were extremely close and lived together as roommates for four years.” She recalled receiving a sudden message from Jung Ji Hyun with a link to Midnight Horror Story, assuming it was just a particularly scary episode only to later realize her friend was actually appearing in it.
“At first, because she’s such a close friend, I found it hilarious watching her act and couldn’t stop laughing,” Kim said. “But as it went on, the story became more and more intense. By the end, I was genuinely creeped out. It was amazing.”

When Jang Do Yeon asked whether the two had ever fought during their four years of living together, Kim Hye Yoon answered without hesitation, “Not even once.” She continued, “That’s what made it so great. She was my first roommate and my last. If one of us was in a bad mood, we’d just say, ‘Let’s go out to eat today,’ or ‘I’m feeling down, I hope you come home early.’ I even saved her contact as ‘house spouse.’”
The conversation drew laughter as Kim described their dynamic as almost marital. When Jang jokingly asked, “So you’re the one waiting at home cooking soup?” Kim replied, “If I said I was working on assignments in the department lounge, she’d ask, ‘Then when are you coming home?’ She saved me as ‘the house spouse,’ too. And if I was home, I’d ask her, ‘When are you coming back? Who are you with?’”
The candid story charmed viewers, highlighting Kim Hye Yoon’s warm personality and the deep trust she shared with her longtime roommate an affectionate, drama-free relationship she described as truly one of a kind.
