Kim Hee Chul criticized harshly by female online community members due to his appearance on recent online show

A Youtube video featuring Super Junior Kim Hee Chul is receiving malicious comments from members of female online communities.

Earlier on July 4th, the Youtube channel “TEO” uploaded a video titled “Kim Hee Chul appears on Salon Drip looking like a nobleman | Salon Drip”.

However, as soon as the video was released, members of various online communities for women poured malicious comments and criticism regarding the guest appearance of Kim Hee Chul.

They said, “Why did they invite an Ilbe supporter…?”, “I guess the production team can’t understand the situation when casting the guest”, “He’s like a boring company senior manager who tries to use online memes and MZ buzzwords to pretend that he’s young. Only he thinks he is young, but the sad thing is people consider him a clown”, “There’s a difference between being honest and being rude”, “Well… Teo is also doing business so they’re okay with inviting him, right? Does Kim Tae Ho PD like that kind of person?”, “Is this supposed to be an entertainment show rather than a program for controversial celebrities to whitewash their past?”, “Kim Hee Chul appears on the show…Hmm”, “Manner = 0%”, “Please invite other men who have a stronger and nicer image than that person”, “The guest is really controversial. Why him?”, etc.

Among them, a netizen drew attention as they commented, “Salon Drip has lots of female viewers, right? But they cast him as a guest?”.

They explained, “He keeps sticking to a style of humor that is not suitable for the modern era, as well as his controversial statements and rude behaviors. If you look at his recent history of making a slip of the tongue and causing a stir on a live broadcast while drinking with some BJs, it’s clear that he enjoys these things, which means he would not like anyone for real, especially women”.

They also added, “Wouldn’t it be better to invite guests according to the taste of major subscribers so that no controversy would arise? This is so disappointing. I was very surprised when I saw the thumbnail. I’m going to skip this episode for sure.”

Others expressed similar opinions, saying “Ah, I wanted to watch the show but couldn’t because of the guest”, “Why did they invite Kim Hee Chul? His voice is so loud. He has no manners. It’s already annoying when he shouts at the beginning of the video”, “I will unsubscribe”, “That guy is too noisy”, etc.

Meanwhile, in the “Salon Drip” video, Kim Hee Chul also mentioned the past controversy over his drunk broadcast with BJ. When asked, “Don’t you think you would stop drinking?”, Kim Hee Chul said, “I promised to my fans that I would drink less. I rarely drink, but how can I quit drinking completely? I secretly drink just a little”.

When Jang Do Yeon suddenly asked, “Then did you stop drinking?”, Kim Hee Chul looked embarrassed. He laughed and said, “It should have been more careful when mentioning BJ as one of my jobs earlier”. After a pause, Kim Hee Chul criticized himself, saying “I hosted a drinking live broadcast, right? Some are people who hate that. Because I drank and cursed and talked loudly on the livestream. I think I should get scolded for that”.

Hearing that, Jang Do Yeon added, “If so, turn the camera into the selfie mode and say it again”, drawing laughter.

Earlier on February 10th, Kim Hee Chul appeared on BJ Choi Gun’s AfreecaTV live and caused various unpleasant issues due to his remarks targeting members of online communities for women while being drunk. Noticing the serious situation, BJ Choi Gun tried to calm Kim Hee Chul but failed. In particular, Kim Hee Chul even mentioned the violent accident of Super Junior member Kang In.

Right after the broadcast, the male idol received harsh criticism from the public, especially from female netizens, such as “If a female idol did that, it would become a big scandal”, “Is it acceptable for male idols to get drunk, curse and talk badly about others on live broadcasts?”, etc.
