Kim Bum makes a strong transformation in “Tale of the Nine Tailed 1938”.
“Tale of the Nine Tailed 1938” recently aired the first episode and received positive reactions from the audience. In this highly – anticipated second season, Kim Bum is drawing attention with an unexpected image and acting transformation. Drawn to Kim Bum in a cowboy image and fluttering side part, the audience is paying keen attention to the actor and what he will bright with this role. They maintain high hope that this will be his chance to affirm his status following the decades-old “Boys Over Flowers” appearance.
When the actor was 17, he joined the audition for KBS’ “20Survival Star Audition” but could not make it further into the finale. Almost right after, the actor got a role in the famous sitcom “High Kick Through the Roof” and made a strong leap forward with “Boys Over Flowers”.
In 2009 and 2010, rarely any rookie actor had such a promising career as that of Kim Bum. He was shot to pan-Asian stardom with “Boys Over Flowers”. He continued by expanding his presence to China. The actor also released his first solo album in Japan in 2012.
However, “Boys Over Flowers” cast a long shadow that Kim Bum could not easily overcome. After the series ended in 2009, Kim Bum also appeared on “Padam Padam”, “That Winter, the Wind Blows” or ‘Hidden Identity”, but could not reach the same level of success as the past drama series. From 2016 to 2020, took a break from the drama scene. “Tale of the Nine Tailed” was his returning drama after 4 years of hiatus. Nonetheless, the actor struggled to break away from the old image on “Boys Over Flowers”. The same happened to “Law School” and “Ghost Doctor”. Nonetheless, it showed Kim Bum’s consistent and resilient effort to create a unique actor indentity.
A struggling professional career did not make much room for his personal affairs. Kim Bum had two relationships before. Yet, neither of them actually worked out. Previously, he went public with Moon Geun Young after reportedly meeting during the filming for “Goddess of Fire”. However, the relationship only lasted for one year.
The “Ghost Doctor” star also had a relationship with Oh Yeon Seo in early 2018. However, they ended the romance right before Valentine’s Day without any announced reasons. The actor has remained single since.
