On the January 20 broadcast of SBS’s variety show MooMoo X ChaCha The Ballad of Us Radio, aespa’s Karina and TV personality Seo Jang Hoon revealed themselves as devoted fans of the audition program The Ballad of Us. The episode featured heartfelt phone calls from celebrity fans and captivating duet and group performances.

In the segment titled “Hello, It’s Me,” Seo Jang Hoon called in first, sharing his deep appreciation for the nostalgic songs and the freshness unique to The Ballad of Us. He fondly recalled his first impression of contestant Song Ji Woo, saying her rendition of “You Let Me Go With A Smile” moved him to follow the show closely.

Next up was a surprise call from Karina, leader of aespa, who excitedly gushed over her favorite contestants. She picked Jung Ji Woong as her top choice, praising his performances of “Lie Lie Lie” and “Annie.” She cheered him on with warm encouragement, telling him to keep singing and expressing her admiration for his voice.

Karina also showed support for another contestant Kim Yunee revealing a personal connection. The two had trained together at SM Entertainment for about a year. Karina affectionately recalled their trainee days, calling Kim Yunee one of the “two most impressive vocalists” she ever encountered at SM, alongside aespa’s Ningning.

“Yunee was treated like a treasure at SM,” Karina said. “I always found her voice stunning. I watched her go through so much and I truly wish for her happiness. As a fan of her voice, I’ll always support her.”

Her heartfelt message and genuine praise touched fans, highlighting the deep bonds and mutual respect that exist even beyond the competitive world of K-pop.
