On the January 21st episode of tvN STORY’s What’s the Use of Leaving It Behind, H.O.T. members Tony An and Kangta discussed their thoughts on marriage, stirring speculation about Kangta’s future with longtime partner, actress Jung Yu-mi.

Lee Young-ja asked the two idols when they plan to get married, noting her surprise when fellow H.O.T. member Moon Hee-joon tied the knot. “I was shocked when Hee-joon got married. Somehow, I always felt like H.O.T. should remain just as they were,” she commented.

Kangta recalled a recent moment that left a deep impression on him. “During a recent performance, Hee-joon’s wife and kids came to see him. When we went to greet them, he called out, ‘Honey! The members are here.’ Hearing him say ‘Honey’ was such a shock to us.”

Tony An chimed in, “That really hit me. Just saying ‘Honey’ so naturally gave me chills.”

Lee Young-ja then expressed her gratitude for the two remaining unmarried and asked if they’d stay that way. Kangta responded playfully, “Not sure about that,” before adding more sincerely, “Seeing Hee-joon with his wife and adorable kids—Heeyul and Heewoo—made me envious. At our age, that kind of family life seems really appealing.”

Tony An offered a different perspective, saying, “I wasn’t envious of married life itself, but I was jealous of the kids.”

The pair even called Moon Hee-joon during the show. When told they weren’t seriously thinking about marriage, Hee-joon replied, “I thought they both were considering it. After a few drinks, they’d say things like, ‘I’d like to try getting married.’ I think there’s something there.”

Fans are now speculating whether Kangta, who has been in a relationship with Jung Yu-mi for six years, might be ready to take the next step.
