On November 19, WINNER’s Kang Seung-yoon appeared as a guest on KBS CoolFM’s ‘Park Myung-soo’s Radio Show’. He served in the 6th Infantry Division of the Republic of Korea Army, completing his service in December last year.

During his military tenure, Kang Seung-yoon received multiple awards, including recognition in national essay competitions, and earned distinctions such as special warrior and early promotion, while also serving as squad leader and performing roles like barber and peer counselor.

Reflecting on his service, Kang Seung-yoon said, “I worked hard.” When asked for more details, he added, “I was promoted early not only to corporal but also to sergeant. I completed nearly all courses excellently during my trainee period, aiming to become a drill instructor.”

Kang Seung-yoon recalled meeting BTS Jin at the training center, where Jin, despite being a world-renowned star, was extremely supportive and attentive. “He was like a god in the military,” Kang Seung-yoon said, adding that Jin even gave him Choco Pie, a small gesture he deeply appreciated. Although Kang Seung-yoon had no prior personal friendship with Jin, Jin reached out upon learning Kang Seung-yoon would be assigned to the same training center, offering to work together as a drill instructor—a plan Kang Seung-yoon ultimately couldn’t follow due to his assignment as an infantryman.

Aside from sharing military stories, Kang Seung-yoon recently released his second solo full-length album, ‘PAGE 2,’ on November 3. He produced all 13 tracks himself, showcasing his expanded musical depth and creative direction, from songwriting and composing to visual directing and promotion planning.

Kang Seung-yoon will also embark on his ‘PASSAGE #2 CONCERT TOUR,’ beginning in Busan on December 24–25, followed by stops in Daegu, Daejeon, Gwangju, Seoul, Osaka, and Tokyo, bringing live performances of his solo work to fans in both Korea and Japan.

When asked about performing solo, Kang Seung-yoon noted that he enjoys working independently, adding that he plans to promote his album extensively, including participating in music festivals and international performances wherever possible.
