BTS Jin, serving as an instructor during his military service, met WINNER Seungyoon at the training camp.
On July 26th, BTS Jin shared an update by uploading two photos on the fan community platform Weverse.
The photos show Jin together with WINNER Kang Seungyoon. Jin, dressed in military uniform as a sergeant, and Kang Seungyoon, dressed as a private, caught fans’ attention.
Jin said, “Congratulations on your completion, Seungyoon. It was enjoyable for six weeks,” and playfully added, “He is a cool vocalist from WINNER.”
He continued, “You’ve been through tough times as a trainee, and I hope you’ll do well in your unit too. We thought it would be nice to take a photo together, hoping ARMY (BTS fandom name) and Inner Circle (WINNER fandom name) would like it.”
While doing so, Jin revealed about Kang Seungyoon’s life in the training camp, “Our company commander and administrative officer were very kind, and he’s been doing well for six weeks. He didn’t receive any special treatment.”
Earlier, Kang Seungyoon enlisted in active duty in the army on June 20th. He was reported to have entered the 5th Infantry Division Recruit Training Center in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi Province, where Jin is serving as an instructor, and received basic military training.
Fans who witnessed the surprise encounter of the two cheered and showed enthusiastic reactions.
Fans left comments such as “A two-shot we couldn’t even imagine,” “This is fascinating,” “Seeing a two-shot of them here is crazy,” “They both look good, I hope they have a healthy military life,” “The instructor and the trainee are heartwarming,” “They both look great.”
Meanwhile, Jin became a special forces soldier earlier this month and was promoted to sergeant ahead of schedule. He enlisted in December last year and was originally scheduled to be promoted to sergeant in September this year. However, he was promoted two months early after becoming a special forces soldier.
After being promoted, Jin jokingly gave a warning to J-Hope, another BTS member who enlisted in April,, “Keep in mind that if you don’t become a special forces soldier, it will be a disgrace to BTS. Make sure to achieve it by this month,” and teased him, “When a private meets a sergeant during vacation, don’t make eye contact.”
