Kang Dong-won recently shared his high school photos
When actor Kang Dong-won saw the “Hanyang University Boyfriend Meme” that went viral and featured him causing chaos at a college pub, he felt embarrassed. Reflecting on his flower boy style, he said, “It seems like my skin was firm back then. It feels like it was so long ago.”
Kang Dong-won recently shared and discussed photos that had caused a stir online during his early career on the YouTube channel ‘MonoTube’ with his fans.
He also shared photos from his early twenties, including TV ad shoot pictures and ad cuts taken with a professional pool player, as well as photos from his college days. He explained, “I think this was from freshman orientation at (the university). There’s a bottle of alcohol here.”
These photos were known on social media as “Kang Dong-won, who caused a pub disaster in college,” and a netizen who claimed to be a fellow alumnus of Kang Dong-won’s university once made headlines by saying, “Kang Dong-won is a fellow alumnus. During the school festival, Kang Dong-won made snacks at the mechanical engineering pub, and all the other department pubs went out of business. That person is really a bad person.”
When the host referred to it as the “Hanyang University Boyfriend Meme,” Kang Dong-won, who graduated from Hanyang University’s Department of Mechanical Engineering, explained, “Yes, that’s right. It’s probably from when I just entered university during freshman orientation.”
He also recalled a photo taken when he was 20 in Mexico. Another photo that showed his appearance during college was introduced as well. Kang Dong-won said, “I took that photo after taking the college entrance exam and getting my driver’s license. It was during the period when my school allowed students to grow their hair.”
Meanwhile, Kang Dong-won will meet the audience through his upcoming film ‘Cheonbaksa,’ which is set to be released in theaters on the 27th. Directed by Kim Sung-shik and produced by Oui Oui Insiders, with distribution by CJ ENM, ‘Cheonbaksa: The Secret of the Snow Scenery’ tells the story of Cheonbaksa (played by Kang Dong-won), a fake exorcist with a ghost-like insight who doesn’t believe in ghosts but gets involved in a powerful, unprecedented case.
