K-pop concert in Japan proceeds despite magnitude 7.6 earthquake “Fans concerned + Stars express wishes for safety”

The “K-pop Masterz × KROSS vol.3” concert was scheduled to take place on Jan 2nd at Vantelin Dome Nagoya, Japan. However, the day before, a magnitude 7.6 earthquake occurred in the Noto Peninsula area of Ishikawa Prefecture, leading the Japanese government to issue a tsunami warning for the entire northwestern coast of Japan.

Nevertheless, the organizer announced through their official account that there were no changes to the concert schedule. They expressed sincere condolences to those affected by the earthquake in Ishikawa Prefecture, stating that after careful consideration, they decided to proceed with the concert, emphasizing their commitment to a safe event. In response to this news, Korean fans voiced their concerns due to the proximity of Nagoya and Ishikawa Prefecture. There are fears of potential earthquake damage.

K-pop stars, acknowledging the situation, extended wishes for the safety of Japanese fans. aespa Winter said through her SNS on Jan 1st, “While I was preparing for the live broadcast, I heard the news that a big earthquake occurred in Japan. Today’s live broadcast is not happening. I hope everyone is safe and sound!

TVXQ Max Changmin confessed on the fan community platform Weverse, “I pray there won’t be significant casualties.” RIIZE Shotaro also added on Weverse, “I hope that everyone, including Japanese fans, gets through this without any major issues.
