At 6 PM KST on June 30, EXO dropped the pre-release song “Hear Me Out” together with its music video ahead of their official comeback on July 10.
Korean netizens have taken to the online communitiy Pann to share their reactions to the song. While fans are loving “Hear Me Out” and praise the fresh summer feelings it brings, netizens have mixed opinions.
Some expressed disappointment at the lack of parts for certain members, such as two main vocalists D.O. and Baekhyun. There were suggestions for a more balanced distribution, with netizens wishing for a vocal-centered track.

- I find the song so-so because there’s barely any D.O. or Baekhyun lines, and Chanyeol had too many parts.
- The song itself is okay, but personally, I like EXO’s vocals, so I would have liked it more if it was a vocal-centered song
- The song is good, but it would have been better if Chanyeol had the rap part in the intro and Sehun had vocals. Suho, Kai, and Xiumin did well, but I’m disappointed in the little amount of Baekhyun and Kyungsoo’s vocals. Why are there so few lines for Kyungsoo?
