The original poster wrote:

NewJeans suddenly took out an iPhone on stage. Then, without looking at the stage camera, they sang while looking at the iPhone.

Isn’t advertising not allowed on stage?

“They’re a group that pursues a concept of being more natural than anyone else, but they give off a more processed vibe compared to other groups.” This comment seems true.

Under the post, netizens jumped to NewJeans’ defense, leaving comments such as:

  • That’s just a phone. Other idols wear clothes as ambassadors on stage. Everything is turned into a controversy these days…
  • Stop bothering idols. This is agreed upon with the broadcasting company, so what…
  • Anyway, it’s something agreed upon with the broadcasting company.
  • If that’s a problem, should idols also blur out luxury brand outfits like Chanel and Gucci that they received as endorsements for their stage costumes in the future? You’re just hating on NewJeans for no reason
  • These days, I only think that many people create controversies out of nothing and want to vent their own frustrating lives on idols… They keep making controversies out of nothing… Aren’t you tired?
  • NewJeans are young, pretty, and successful female idols, so I only think of them starting a new trend among idols
