JYP’s New Global Girl Group VCHA Trending No.1 Worldwide

JYP’s new girl group VCHA is attracting attention from global fans

VCHA introduced their pre-debut single “SeVit, NEW LIGHT” on September 22nd. They also released the music video for the title song “Y.O.Universe” on the same day.

Even before their official debut, the group has aroused keen interest from global K-pop fans. On the 23rd, “Y.O.Universe” music video ranked No.1 in Worldwide Trending. It rose to 5th place in the US, 6th place in Canada, and 7th place in Indonesia. The MV entered YouTube Trending Charts in 33 regions worldwide.

In the Music category on YouTube, “Y.O.Universe” ranked No.2 in Singapore, No.5 in Australia, No.6 in New Zealand, and No.8 in Canada. It was also marked ‘Trending Music Video’ in Korea and is still trending No.16 as of today. The music video appeared alongside various famous music releases, such as V’s “Slow Dancing” and RIIZE’s “Get A Guitar”.

VCHA is an idol group selected through a project called “A2K (America2Korea)”. The group consists of six members, including Lexi, Camila, Kendall, Savanna, KG, and Kaylee.

The group’s name expresses the identity of the team, which means the girls will shine a light on fans and the world. It was a name given by Producer Park Jin Young, who led this global project.

VCHA’s single contains a total of three tracks, including the title “Y.O.Universe”, “Go Getter” and “Know Me Like That”. “Y.O.Universe” is an uptempo pop genre song that delivers the message emphasizing, “We are all special and different”. It also depicts the stories of “A2K” project and its participants.

The song was written by famous names, including JYP’s executive producer Park Jin Young and a Grammy-winning songwriter. The agency stated, “The song was completed within a day”.

Meanwhile, VCHA will perform “Y.O.Universe” on MBC’s “Music Core” on the 23rd.
