JYP Entertainment to host a songwriting contest called “SONGS THAT CARE” as part of its social responsibility

JYP’s new audition project “SONGS THAT CARE” aims to fulfill its social responsibility as an entertainment company.

On August 3rd, JYP Entertainment was the first to publish an ESG report among Korean entertainment companies, and announced their steps for a sustainable future. ESG stands for Environmental, Social, and Governance, which are non-financial factors of a company. ESG activities are emerging both domestically and globally as a standard for evaluating a company’s sustainable growth despite its non-financial performance.

In this report, JYP, well-known for its slogan, “LEADER IN ENTERTAINMENT”, advocates “Leader of Change” as its ESG vision, and transparently provides information on the process and achievements of its ESG management activities carried out in the three areas of environment, society and governance from 2021 to 2022.

JYP founder and chief producer Park Jin Young also directly guided the core contents of ESG management in the video titled “2021 JYP ESG REPORT” posted on JYP’s official YouTube channel on August 3rd. He said, “In the future, we will continue to make efforts to create and sustain changes in people, society and the world.”

The songwriting contest “SONGS THAT CARE” hosted by JYP is part of such efforts. Through this contest, JYP will discover songs that will spread good influence to society under the theme of “Social Impact” and fulfill its social responsibility as a music company.
