NiziU Ayaka, whose visual was praised by Park Jin Young as soon as he saw her face, made hot topics as “Suzy lookalike”.
Ayaka is a member of the girl group NiziU, which was formed in the Japanese girl group audition program “Nizi Project”. It is known that Park Jin Young personally selected her for the lineup of NiziU after discovering her great potential.
Born in 2003, Ayaka attracted fans with her beautiful appearance and got the nickname “Japanese version of Suzy”. During the broadcast of “Nizi Project”, she captivated Japanese netizens with her impressive tall height and distinctive facial features. However, she received negative feedback for her lacking dancing and singing skills. Despite that, Park Jin Young acknowledged her potential, saying her visual reminded him of Suzy’s pre-debut appearance.
On the audition show, Park Jin Young said, “I get the same feeling when I first picked Suzy for the debut project”, adding “In terms of skills, I would have to eliminate her. However, if I really eliminated her, I think I would continue thinking of my decision again after going home”, appreciating Ayaka’s star quality and picked her as a NiziU member.
Although Ayaka was criticized for her relatively poor dancing skills during her debut days, she has gradually shown improvements after receiving professional training and became popular not only in Japan but also in Korea.
