jung woo sung made in korea press conference

On the morning of December 15, a production presentation for Disney+’s original series Made in Korea was held at the Grand Ballroom of the Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas in Gangnam. The event was attended by actors Hyun Bin, Jung Woo Sung, Woo Do Hwan, Seo Eun Soo, Won Ji An, Jung Sung Il, Kang Gil Woo, Roh Jae Won, Park Yong Woo, along with director Woo Min Ho.

During the press conference, Jung Woo Sung was asked whether recent changes in his family life—including extramarital child controversy and marriage—had caused any difficulties during filming. Responding carefully, he said, “I want this project to be approached as an entertaining work. I understand the nature of the question, but since today is an event where many actors of Made in Korea have gathered together, I ask for your understanding that I cannot go into detail about my personal changes.”

When a similar question was posed to Jung Sung Il, he shifted the focus back to the project itself. “Everyone here—the director, staff, and actors—worked with great passion,” he said. “There’s no doubt about that. We simply did our best for this series, and there were no issues.”

Made in Korea is set in the turbulent yet ambitious 1970s, a period when South Korea faced both chaos and rapid growth. The series follows Baek Ki Tae (played by Hyun Bin), a man who seeks wealth and power by turning the nation itself into a business model, and prosecutor Jang Geon Young (played by Jung Woo Sung), who relentlessly pursues him with unwavering determination. Their clash unfolds through massive, era-defining events that cut across the times.

Made in Korea is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ on December 24.
