Jung Kyung-ho Explains His Forced Rest This Year, “Projects Fall Through Frequently”

Actor Jung Kyung-ho revealed that drama and movie projects might get canceled even when they have good scripts

On April 5th, the YouTube channel “channel fullmoon” uploaded a new video of “Nattering with Nah” featuring the guest appearances of “Hospital Playlist” actors Jo Jung-suk, Yoo Yeon-seok, Kim Dae-myung, Jung Kyung-ho and Jeon Mi-do.

Reuniting after a long time, the five actors shared various talks with PD Na Young-seok (Na PD) and director Shin Won-ho while enjoying delicious food.

When Na PD asked, “Are you not doing any projects?”, Jung Kyung-ho said, “It fell through. It was too overwhelming so it didn’t work. There have been many cases like that”. Director Shin commented, “There are many cases in which the projects fell through despite having good directors, good writers, and good actors”.

Jung Kyung-ho continued, “I heard it happened frequently. There have been more than 6 or 7 cases like that this year alone”.

In response to the comment about “suddenly being discouraged”, Jung Kyung-ho said, “What a bummer. I really liked the script. I’ve waited for something like that for a long time”, adding “I guess I should take a rest quietly this year”.

Hearing that, director Shin Won-ho worriedly asked, “Do you know how old you are?”, Jung Kyung-ho replied, “I’m 42”, drawing laughter.

In the meantime, PD Shin Won-ho revealed that Jung Kyung-ho wrote him a letter after the meeting for tvN’s “Prison Playbook”. Jung Kyung-ho said, “I wrote the letter two days after the meeting”, adding “I went to the meeting but they gave me only 8 scripts and they were all funny scenes. So the next day I wrote a letter saying, ‘There are 8 reasons why I should participate in this drama’”, making everyone burst into laughter.
