Jung Hae In Reflects on 10 Years in the Industry and His Impactful Role in Drana ‘D.P’

Jung Hae In appeared on JTBC’s ‘News Room’ broadcast on July 30th.

Facing anchor Kang Ji Young, Jung Hae In said, “This is my first time in the News Room studio, so everything feels unfamiliar, and I’m quite nervous.

Jung Hae In has already celebrated his 10th debut anniversary. When asked about the 10-year milestone, he replied, “I don’t count time that closely. I just work hard every day. Today is the most important day in my life. It won’t come back, so today, this very moment, is the most important.”

They also discussed his first leading role in JTBC’s “Something in the Rain.” Jung Hae In reminisced, “I’m very grateful. It was already five years ago, but it felt like a dream-like time. Looking back, it was like looking through the clouds and trying hard to see the essence.”

Jung Hae In’s Netflix drama “D.P” is a significant drama in Jung Hae In’s filmography. In the first season released in August 2021, he portrayed the protagonist Ahn Joon Ho, and in the second season released on July 28th, he played the role of Private Ahn Joon Ho, who became a corporal, receiving explosive love from viewers.

Season 2 dealt with the story of the D.P. team, which arrests deserters, Jun Ho (Jung Hae In), and Ho Yeol (Koo Kyo Hwan), constantly clashing with an unchanged reality and absurdity.

Regarding the popularity of Season 1, Jung Hae In said, “If I say it didn’t feel like pressure, that would be a lie. It was a work that received so much attention, so I hope those who watched it didn’t feel like their time was wasted. I want to deliver acting that satisfies not only myself but also the viewers.

Asked if he felt like he went to the military three times while filming Season 2, Jung Hae In responded with a smile, “Yes, during Season 1’s military police shooting, the authenticity was so well done that I felt like I was redeployed to the military. While shooting Season 2, I felt that kind of sensation again. I want to be discharged. I hope they discharge me.

Jung Hae In expressed his satisfaction with his bromance acting with Koo Kyo Hwan. Jung Hae In said, “I think of funny and entertaining thoughts. When I think of Kyo Hwan hyung, there’s wit. So, I just really like it. I can feel the energy exchanged while acting.

When asked about his wandering period in his youth, he said, “Ironically, I think I went through a wandering phase after becoming an actor. There were works with disappointing results and good ones too. When the results weren’t good, I felt disheartened. At those times, I wandered and worried a lot. This job is difficult. That’s why I think more now about actors, senior actors, and teachers who have been acting for a long time. I really respect them and think they are amazing.

He said, “The word ‘center’ is a word I really like. There’s no need to get too excited about good things or get depressed about bad things. Maintaining a peaceful state is helpful to me.”

When asked about a comment comparing him to someone buying their second house in life, Jung Hae In replied, “I hear that from people around me. I’ve actually had that kind of personality from the beginning. I spent a lot of time with my maternal grandmother and grandfather, so I have some old-fashioned aspects. I want to call it analog sensibility.

Looking forward to the next 10 years, Jung Hae In said, “I think I might be an actor portraying middle-aged men in their 40s. I hope to be someone who can portray the men living in this era.
