Alongside owning the Marvel franchises and creative houses Pixar, Lucasfilm, and more, Disney has expanded its influence to Asia, and Korea is no exception. Recently, at the 2022 Disney APAC in Singapore, various Korean stars were spotted in their stunning visuals, and interesting projects were also unveiled.
Jung Hae In and Go Kyung Pyo’s “rivalry”
Jung Hae In, Go Kyung Pyo, Kim Hye Jun, and the “master director” from Japan, Takashi Miike, are working together in the drama “Connect”.
“Connect” is the drama adaptation of a webtoon of the same name, where Jung Hae In transforms into the “special race” of Connect. His character and Go Kyung Pyo’s will be going head to head in the series, promising an interesting sight that will keep viewers on edge.
Lee Sung Kyung to come back with a solemn image
After rather bright projects such as “Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo” and “Shooting Stars”, Lee Sung Kyung will be starring in the more sorrowful project “Say It’s Love” .
In this drama , Lee Sung Kyung’s character is one who has lost everything, even her dear home. In her search for revenge, she crosses paths with the male lead (played by Kim Young Kwang), and slowly, their wrath becomes replaced by love. This is expected to be a notable project of Kim Young Kwang, who starred in “On Your Wedding Day” and “Hello, Me!”
BTS documentary and other notable projects
The 2022 Disney APAC also announced “Big Bet”, which will tackle the theme of the underworld. High anticipation is directed towards the project, which will star Choi Min Sik, Lee Dong Hwi, Heo Sung Tae, Son Seok Koo, and more
After his long hiatus from the action genre, Ji Chang Wook is finally returning with his stunning action sequences in “The Worst Of Evil”. He will co-star alongside Wi Ha Joon – who previously gained attention through “Squid Game”.
In addition, Han Hyo Joo will be working with Ryu Seung Ryong and Jo In Sung in the thriller project “Moving”.
Next, there is “RACE”, which follows the daily life of female lead Yoon Jo, who works in the PR department and has to overcome all sorts of hardship. The project will feature Lee Yeon Hee, Moon So Ri, Hong Jong Hyun, Yunho (TVXQ) as its cast members
