Jung Hae In and Go Kyung Pyo’s new drama “Connect” finished filming and is expected to be released on Disney+ in 2023 

The filming for Japanese director Takashi Miike’s K-drama “Connect” is done. 

The highly anticipated drama “Connect,” starring Jung Hae In, Go Kyung Pyo, and Kim Hye Joon as leads, and directed by Japanese filmmaker Takashi Miike, has reportedly wrapped up its filming and is now set to be released through global OTT platform Disney+.

According to YTN star, the filming of “Connect” came to an end last month by finishing additional filming of the main cast. Based on a webtoon of the same name, “Connect” tells a mysterious story of a man, who has been deprived of a part of his body by organ hunters, ‘connects’ with a person who has received an organ transplant.

Connect” is the first production in the history of K-drama to be directed by Japanese director Takashi Miike and produced by Studio Dragon, Korea’s top production company, thus drawing keen attention from the pre-production stage.

Director Takashi Miike, who graduated from Yokohama Broadcasting and Film school, is dubbed a master of genre films. He won the Best Popular Award at the 1st Jeonju International Film Festival in 2000, Maverick Award at the 2013 Rome International Film Festival, and Honorary Award at Sitges Film Festival. He gained recognition for his works such as “Laplace’s Witch,” “Imprint,” and “Lesson of the Evil.”

Connect” is also receiving high anticipation thanks to its quality cast including leading actors Jung Hae In, Go Kyung Pyo, Kim Hye Joon, and other talented names. 

According to industry officials, Disney+ is currently coordinating the release date of “Connect” in the first half of next year, most possibly in May. Broadcasters are paying attention to the fresh synergy that Japanese director Takashi Miike and Korean actors will present through “Connect”.
