Former PRISTIN and HINAPIA member Jung Eunwoo has shared an honest look at her life after leaving the entertainment industry, opening up about her struggles with self-esteem and her journey toward finding a new career.

During a recent interview with YouTube channel One Mic Magazine, the former idol discussed the emotional challenges she faced after her dreams of stardom came to an unexpected end.

Jung Eunwoo first gained public attention through Mnet’s Produce 101 in 2016, where she finished in 21st place and earned recognition for her talent and determination. Following the survival show, she debuted as a member of PRISTIN, one of the most anticipated rookie girl groups of its generation. However, PRISTIN disbanded in 2019, dealing a major blow to the members and their fans. Later that year, Jung Eunwoo attempted a fresh start by re-debuting with HINAPIA, but the group ultimately ceased activities less than a year later.

After stepping away from the spotlight, Jung Eunwoo entered a completely different field. She revealed that she now works as a manager at a plastic surgery clinic in Seoul’s Gangnam district, a career path she never expected to pursue during her idol days. Recalling her first experiences in the workplace, she admitted that seeing people from her past was emotionally difficult.

One of the most candid moments from the interview came when Jung Eunwoo discussed being recognized at work. According to the former idol, some people who knew her from her entertainment career would ask why she was working at a hospital. “At the time, I felt embarrassed,” she admitted.

However, Jung Eunwoo later realized that the comments themselves were not the issue. Instead, she believes her reaction was driven by her own insecurities and lack of confidence during that period of her life. She explained that she struggled with low self-esteem for years after leaving the entertainment industry but gradually overcame those feelings as she matured.

Jung Eunwoo also acknowledged that she once had difficulty moving on from her dream of being a performer. Although she admitted to having lingering regrets about leaving the industry, she now accepts that returning as an idol is no longer a realistic path. Her candid reflections resonated with many viewers who praised her honesty about the emotional realities former idols often face after their careers end.

Despite choosing a different profession, Jung Eunwoo says music continues to be an important part of her life. While she may no longer perform on stage, she still enjoys singing whenever she gets the chance. “The most enjoyable time to sing is when I’m showering,” she joked, reminding fans that her passion for music remains alive even outside the spotlight.

For many viewers, her story serves as a touching reminder that life after fame can be challenging but also full of new opportunities and personal growth.
