ju jingyi contract dispute siba

As 2025 draws to a close, the Chinese entertainment industry continues to be rocked by controversies. Following the dispute between Zhao Lusi and her management company this past summer, it is now Ju Jingyi ’s turn to speak out, demanding to terminate her contract with Siba Entertainment.

The “once-in-4,000-years beauty” claims that her contract with the company ended in June 2024 and that she has not renewed it. However, Siba refutes this, stating that the actress signed a supplementary agreement extending their partnership until 2033.

The two sides have taken the matter to court, but it remains unclear whether the signature on the supplemental agreement was genuinely made by Ju Jingyi herself. What is certain is that tensions are escalating, with Siba now threatening to accuse her of alleged economic crimes.

This controversy not only endangers Ju Jingyi’s career, but has also dragged several other Chinese celebrities into trouble. At present, she has three completed dramas awaiting release:

  • Veil of Shadows, co-starring Chen Duling, Zeng Shunxi, and Diao Jiashuai
  • Lai Zhan, featuring Zhang Yunlong
  • Tian Xiang, alongside Song Weilong

She is also attached to the upcoming project The Colorful World, which is currently in the preparation stage.

If Ju Jingyi loses the lawsuit or is found to have committed any illegal acts, she may be required to compensate for numerous breached contracts. More importantly, these dramas may end up being shelved indefinitely, leading to financial losses for investors and major setbacks for her co-stars, who are also well-known figures in the industry.
