joo ji hoon cameo 21st century grand princes wife

Actor Joo Ji Hoon is once again drawing attention—not just for his performance, but for his honest and witty remarks in a recent interview. Currently starring in ENA’s drama “Climax,” the actor opened up about ratings pressure, bold storytelling, and a cameo opportunity that ultimately fell through.

During the interview, Joo Ji Hoon addressed rumors about his involvement in “Perfect Crown,” a project reminiscent of his breakout hit Princess Hours.

“I said yes when I was offered the cameo,” he revealed. “But I already knew it probably wouldn’t work out.”

The reason was simple: scheduling conflicts. At the time, he was already committed to filming “The Remarried Empress,” making it practically impossible to appear in another production.

“Logically, it didn’t make sense,” he added with a laugh, highlighting the realities of tight production schedules in the Korean drama industry.

Joo Ji Hoon also spoke in depth about his current drama “Climax,” which has been gaining attention for its provocative themes and intense storytelling.

“It’s been a while since I worked on a drama where ratings are visible, so it feels thrilling,” he said.

The actor explained that the series originally had a 19+ rating but was later adjusted to 15+, creating an interesting contrast where mature themes remained while visual expression was toned down. According to him, this sometimes made scenes feel even more intense to viewers.

He also noted how airing on traditional TV—rather than OTT platforms—can amplify audience reactions to bold content.

Joo Ji Hoon didn’t shy away from lighter topics either. His recent appearance on a YouTube show grouped him with Kim Nam Gil and Yoon Kyung Ho as a “talkative trio.”

Playfully rejecting the label, he said: “ I’m offended. I’m not someone who talks unnecessarily.”

He jokingly described Kim Nam Gil as someone who “just says anything,” while Yoon Kyung Ho is “naturally talkative,” creating laughter and showcasing their close friendship.

Looking ahead, Joo Ji Hoon discussed his upcoming drama “The Remarried Empress.” Interestingly, he initially turned down the role. “I didn’t understand it at first,” he admitted.

However, after hearing convincing explanations from people he trusts, he became intrigued and ultimately joined the project.

Describing himself as an “omnivorous actor,” Joo Ji Hoon emphasized his openness to all types of roles. Growing up surrounded by diverse personalities, he developed a natural ability to embrace even the most unconventional characters.

He concluded by defining “Climax” as a drama that reflects the harsh realities of an unfair world, delivering raw and unfiltered narratives that continue to engage viewers.
