Joo Hyun-young, who was active on “SNL”, delivered sad news to fans

On Jan 29th, Joo Hyun-young’s agency AIMC unveiled the full text containing details related to Joo Hyun-young’s departure from “SNL” Season 5, which she directly conveyed to the “SNL” production team.

Joo Hyun-young expressed her thoughtful consideration regarding her participation in the next season of “SNL”, emphasizing her deep respect and affection for the show. While cautious, she hinted at the possibility of joining the next season if given the opportunity.

She acknowledged the supportive environment of “SNL”, allowing her to express herself freely and develop her skills, but also mentioned her desire to explore different genres and experiences outside of the show for further growth.

Joo Hyun-young expressed uncertainty about whether her experiences outside “SNL” could be incorporated into the show’s challenges. She concluded with appreciation for the love and support from those involved with “SNL” and expressed gratitude for the honor of being part of the show.

“SNL” is a comedy show that leads trends through sketches and political satire. It was rebooted on Coupang Play after airing on tvN to Season 9.

Joo Hyun-young, who has been active as a fixed crew member from Season 1 to 4 of the reboot, received much love for her characters such as “Reporter Joo” and “Young Oldie”.

Joo Hyun-young recently appeared in MBC’s drama “The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract”, where she received praise for her outstanding performance as Sa-wol, the close friend of the female lead Park Yeon-woo (played by Lee Si-young). She won the Best New Actress award at the 2023 MBC Drama Awards for this role.

She also confirmed her appearance on TVING’s entertainment show “Crime Scene Returns”, which will premiere on Feb 9th.
