Actress Joo Hyun-young opened up about her family, sense of duty, and evolving career during a November interview held after the conclusion of ENA’s hit series Ms. Incognito.

If my sisters decide to get married someday, I’d love to help by covering the wedding expenses. But I won’t be the one to bring it up first,” she joked in her conversation with TenAsia. The drama wrapped with impressive nationwide ratings of 7.1%, securing its place as ENA’s second-most-watched title.

Joo Hyun-young has earlier shown viewers the Pyeongchang house on MBC’s I Live Alone, and the interview reiterates that the family now live in the home she helped provide. She framed the gift as part of wanting to give her parents a comfortable retirement and described family bonds as a central source of meaning in her life.

In the drama Ms. Incognito, Joo Hyun-young portrayed the unpredictable helper Baek Hye-ji, a minor but critical figure who knows the protagonist’s secret. She told reporters she values learning from senior actors and hopes to keep growing into roles that make her a dependable presence for both colleagues and audiences.

She also reflected on personal growth: “I often tell friends that being older is better I was more immature in my 20s. With experience, I want to be more flexible and braver.” Joo Hyun-young mentioned her admiration for senior actor Oh Jung-se and expressed a desire to be recognized for a range of memorable characters as her career develops.

Joo Hyun-young debuted in the short film Did You Miss Me? (2019) and rose to broader fame through sketches on SNL Korea Reboot (2019). Since then she has shifted focus toward scripted acting and earned attention for recent TV work and media appearances.
