On July 31, actor Jo Jung-suk and singer Gummy confirmed through their respective agencies, “It’s true that Gummy is pregnant with their second child. As it is still early in the pregnancy, they are being cautious. Please support them warmly as they go through this blessed time.”

Jo Jung-suk and Gummy, who married in 2018, welcomed their first daughter in 2020. Now, five years later, the couple is celebrating another joyous moment. Known for their loving and private relationship, the news has been met with an outpouring of congratulations from fans and the public.
Along with the announcement, past remarks by the couple have resurfaced. In October 2021, Gummy appeared as a guest on the SBS variety show My Little Old Boy, where she was asked about plans for a second child. Laughing, she replied, “(Shin) Dong-yeob oppa already knew about it.”

Host Shin Dong-yeob then shared, “ When I was having dinner and drinks with Jo Jung-suk, I asked him about having a second child, and he said, ‘I’ll definitely have one.’ Later, Gummy told me, ‘I didn’t even know he felt that way.’” Netizens are now celebrating that Jo Jung-suk’s wish has finally come true.
Meanwhile, a recent moment from a YouTube variety show featuring Gummy has also gone viral again. In May, she appeared on the YouTube channel Zip Daesung with Dynamic Duo.
When the production team told them they could drink alcohol if they wanted, the group suggested drinking whatever Gummy wanted. However, she replied, “I can’t drink today,” and filled her glass with water instead. The video’s caption explained that Gummy was skipping alcohol due to parenting duties.
Now, with the pregnancy revealed, many are speculating that Gummy was already in the early stages of pregnancy at the time and was quietly being cautious.

Currently, Jo Jung-suk is meeting audiences through his latest film My Daughter Is a Zombie, while Gummy, who transferred to Amoeba Culture in June last year, released a collaboration single “Take Care” with Dynamic Duo earlier this year.
