On May 8, Benjamin Bortmans, founder of fashion brand Judassime, posted a lengthy statement on social media beginning with the words, “Thank you for understanding the situation.”
In the statement, the designer said, “I want to publicly clarify the situation regarding Jisoo and her company BLISSOO,” adding that he takes responsibility for the way he initially raised the issue publicly.
He continued by firmly clarifying, “First of all, neither Jisoo nor BLISSOO ever stole, handled, shipped, or personally kept any garments.” He also emphasized, “At no point was it my intention to accuse her directly of doing so.”
Benjamin Bortmans explained that the outfits had originally been sent from Paris to Korea for a photoshoot related to Jisoo that was scheduled to take place last December. However, according to him, the shoot was postponed multiple times, and months passed without the outfits being returned or clear communication being provided.

Despite the earlier frustration, the designer stated that he has now received confirmation that the outfits will be returned.
He explained, “The invoice I sent to the team would only remain unpaid if the outfits were not returned,” before adding, “I have now received confirmation that the outfits will indeed be returned.”
The designer also admitted that the incident had a major impact on his brand. He shared, “These outfits are extremely valuable both emotionally and financially. The long delay and lack of clear communication affected not only my work but also future opportunities.”

He asked the public to separate the artist herself from the communication issues surrounding the situation, while also recognizing that the incident had genuinely affected his business and creative work.
Previously, Benjamin Bortmans had publicly claimed that Jisoo’s side failed to return borrowed outfits. He stated that even after sending contracts and invoices and attempting legal action, he had received no response. At the time, he openly expressed frustration, saying he hoped “someone from that team would wake up and send my belongings back.”

However, after Jisoo’s name became directly associated with the controversy, the issue rapidly escalated online. As criticism toward the singer intensified, the designer later uploaded an additional video clarifying that he had never intended to attack Jisoo personally.
According to his explanation, he mentioned her name only because he was attempting to receive a response from the stylist agency affiliated with the magazine involved in the photoshoot. He also urged people to stop leaving excessive hate comments directed at Jisoo.
