Jisoo (BLACKPINK) receives backlash for alleged biased treatment compared to other Chinese stars attending the Dior show

Netizens urged for a neutral stance to see why each star is treated differently.

Recently, Chinese netizens showed their frustration when Dior supposedly expressed their bias towards their Chinese representatives. Specifically, according to Weibo and Sin, Zhang Zi Yi and Liu Yu Xin, Dior Ambassador in China, were seated among normal audiences. Zhang Zi Yi also had to pay the fee out of her own pocket and was not welcomed by the CEO or Creative Director of the brand. In addition, she was not given designs from the new collection to wear to the event.

On the contrary, Jisoo (BLACKPINK) was greeted by the powerful Directors of Dior and the LVMH giant. She was also seated at the front row

Netizens voiced their opinions against this presumed bias, saying that Zhang Zi Yi was also a globally famous actress so it was unacceptable she was treated like that: “Would rather she had not come! How is [the treatment] acceptable?,” quoted an online criticism.

However, more neutral stances online came to the fore. Some netizens said that, after a while of using the products from Dior and attending their shows in and outside of her country, Zhang Zi Yi  has not been announced with any title. Liu Yu Xin has been upgraded from being “Friend of the House” to “Brand Ambassador” in China, yet, not on a global scale. On the other hand, Jisoo received the global ambassadorship from the brands through her added value to the brand, generating both profit and media impact value for Dior.

With the information in mind, netizens are calling for a more objective viewpoint to understand how each celebrity receives a different treatment when they attend the same show.
