A leaked English-language surrogacy contract from the United States bearing the signature “Tian Jing,” allegedly linked to Chinese actress Jing Tian, spread rapidly across social media on May 22 and sparked intense public discussion.
The controversy erupted because the handwriting in the document closely resembled the actress’s publicly known signature. According to details circulating online, the agreement initially required the wealthy boyfriend involved to pay a first deposit of 100,000 USD. However, the businessman allegedly transferred as much as 30 million yuan to the actress instead.
According to entertainment industry rumors, the businessman reportedly arranged a private jet to fly Jing Tian to the United States in order to keep the surrogacy process secret and ensure her comfort before egg retrieval. Reports further claimed that he booked an entire floor of a luxury hotel in Los Angeles exclusively for the actress.
However, on the scheduled day of the medical procedure, the actress allegedly changed her attitude, claiming she was unwell and demanding additional money before continuing with the surrogacy arrangement. After the businessman reportedly refused, she was accused of taking 50 million yuan obtained from him, returning to China on a commercial flight, and cutting off all contact.
Earlier in April, an entertainment blogger had already caused a stir online by claiming that an A-list Chinese actress identified only by the initial “J.” pretended to pursue surrogacy and convinced her wealthy boyfriend to hand over an enormous amount of money. According to the blogger, once the actress received the funds, she allegedly refused to undergo the necessary medical procedures required for surrogacy.
The blogger further claimed that after realizing he had been deceived, the businessman confronted the actress and demanded the money back, only to be ignored. He eventually decided to file a lawsuit against her.
Online users quickly speculated that the actress mentioned was Jing Tian. The blogger described the celebrity as someone who debuted with a pure and innocent image, received strong backing from powerful industry figures, and had previously suffered from a toxic relationship involving emotional and financial betrayal.
