According to Star News on September 2, Ji Sung has been cast in JTBC’s new drama Apartment (working title), with his agency confirming that he is “positively reviewing the offer.”
Apartment tells the story of a former gangster who runs for the position of apartment residents’ association president in hopes of controlling hidden money circulating within the complex. However, he unexpectedly stumbles upon deep-seated corruption and, through the process of exposing it, gradually transforms into an unlikely hero. Ji Sung will reportedly play the role of Hae-kang, the ex-gangster at the center of the story. The broadcast schedule has yet to be decided.

This role follows Ji Sung’s return to television later this year with MBC’s new Friday-Saturday drama Judge Lee Han-young. His last small-screen appearance was in SBS’s Connection, which ended in July 2024.
Over the years, Ji Sung has proven his versatility and commanding presence through a wide range of dramas, including Connection, Adamas, The Devil Judge, Doctor John, Familiar Wife, Innocent Defendant, and Kill Me, Heal Me. With Apartment, anticipation is building to see how he will once again reinvent himself on screen.
