Actor Ji Chang Wook has once again become a trending topic online after a viral video showed him seemingly leaving with a fan’s autograph notebook during an overseas schedule. The moment quickly spread across social media and online communities, sparking both amusement and debate among netizens.
According to Sports Chosun, the actor recently traveled to Paris, France, to attend the Tom Ford fashion show during the 2026 F/W Paris Fashion Week. Outside the venue, Ji Chang Wook greeted fans who had gathered to see him and politely responded to autograph requests.

In the circulating video, the actor can be seen smiling warmly as he signs a fan’s notebook. However, after finishing the autograph, he returns the pen but continues holding the notebook while walking away from the crowd. The brief moment was captured on camera and quickly went viral online.
The clip immediately reminded many fans of a similar incident that happened in 2024. At the time, Ji Chang Wook was attending a stage greeting for the film “Revolver.” During the event, a fan handed him a notebook for an autograph. After signing it, the actor accidentally returned only the pen and walked away while still holding the notebook, creating an unintentionally comedic moment.

That scene also spread rapidly on social media and was widely discussed under the phrase “Ji Chang Wook personality controversy.” Instead of escalating into serious criticism, the situation became more humorous when his agency posted a notice trying to locate the fan involved in the so-called “notebook incident.”
Now, nearly two years later, fans noticed a similar situation happening again overseas, leading to playful reactions from netizens. Comments included jokes such as “He’s a repeat offender,” “But this time it happened abroad, how will he return it?” and “A new type of notebook theft.” Others responded more affectionately, saying the moment was “actually cute” and seemed like another absent-minded mistake rather than a real controversy.

Meanwhile, Ji Chang Wook is preparing for his next acting project. The actor has been confirmed to appear in the upcoming JTBC drama “Human X Gumiho” (working title). The fantasy romantic comedy tells the story of Gu Ja Hong, a seductive fox spirit played by Jun Ji Hyun, and Choi Seok, a human who attracts supernatural beings, portrayed by Ji Chang Wook. The production is scheduled to begin filming in mid-March.
