On March 9, ALLDAY PROJECT released the song “I DON’T BARGAIN” in collaboration with the video game PUBG: Battlegrounds, celebrating the game’s 9th anniversary. The track combines the game’s themes of survival, underdog spirit, and relentless competition with the group’s distinct musical style.

The song also drew attention because all members participated in writing the lyrics alongside Vince, a singer and producer from The Black Label.

However, it was Annie’s verse that quickly became the biggest talking point online. In the lyrics, she openly addresses criticism about her privileged background with lines such as:

“Diamond spoon stir up the pot.”
“Pretty face, don’t let it fool ya.”
“They say I paid, makin’ me really wanna.”
“Now I gotta pave the way they’ll never walk on.”

The bold lyrics appear to directly reference the “gold spoon” or “diamond spoon” label often used in Korea to describe people born into extremely wealthy families.

After the lyrics spread across social media, many internet users reacted positively. Some commented that the lines felt empowering and seemed like a direct response to malicious comments.

Reactions included remarks such as: “Only Annie could write lyrics like that,” “The rhyme and pronunciation are great,” and “It feels like she’s speaking directly to haters.”

Annie previously revealed that she plans to balance her idol career with her academic studies. She explained that she decided to return to school because she could no longer extend her leave of absence, and plans to graduate after studying art history and visual arts at Columbia University for one semester.

Annie debuted in June last year as a member of ALLDAY PROJECT, a co-ed group created by producer Teddy under The Black Label. Her debut initially drew attention after it became known that she is the granddaughter of the chairman of Shinsegae Group and the daughter of Shinsegae President Chung Yoo Kyung, which led to debates about privilege in the entertainment industry.

Despite the early controversy, ALLDAY PROJECT quickly established itself as a rising rookie group with consecutive hits such as “FAMOUS” and “WICKED.” The group is now preparing for an upcoming Asian tour scheduled to run from March 17 to March 20.
