Jeon Yeo Been: “There Was a Time When My Close Friend and My Crush Overlapped, But I Gave Up”
Jeon Yeo Been confesses about her past relationship when talking about the new drama “A Time Called You”
On September 4th, MBC FM4U’s “Two O’Clock Date with JaeJae” aired an episode featuring actors Jeon Yeo Been and Kang Hoon from Netflix’s upcoming drama “A Time Called You.”
Jeon Yeo Been said, “During my school days, there was no student who didn’t have a crush on f(x)’s Krystal.” She revealed her love for Krystal and casually sang f(x)’s song “Hot Summer.”
Kang Hoon shared that he can’t sleep if he doesn’t make people laugh and added, “My motto is ‘Let’s live happily,’ so if people aren’t happy, I try to make them happy.” Hearing this, Jeon Yeo Been jokingly said, “‘A Time Called You’ must have been sleepless nights for you,” to which Kang Hoon responded, “I thought it was funny.“
Jeon Yeo Been continued to playfully tease Kang Hoon, “He’s indispensable for fun. Hoon is the vitamin of our filming set. But you know, vitamins get expelled from your body the same day, right?” Kang Hoon replied, “Just one day of happiness is enough for me.”
“A Time Called You” is a remake of the popular Taiwanese drama “Someday or One Day.” Jeon Yeo Been revealed that she was a fan of the original and said, “When I first saw ‘Someday or One Day,’ it was an envy-inducing drama both as a viewer and as an actor. Then I heard about the remake, and a big dream filled my heart. I wondered if I would have a chance, and the role came to me like fate. I did my best not to miss this opportunity.“
Kang Hoon filmed without watching the original, and he still has not watched it yet. Kang Hoon said, “I’m not a smart person, so I haven’t watched it yet because I’m afraid I might get confused when filming or interviewing. I think I’ll definitely have to watch it as time goes by.” Jeon Yeo Been shared, “I understand how he feels. I think it’ll be fun to compare after the work is opened.“
Regarding the points that are different from the original, Jeon Yeo Been explained, “I haven’t seen the entire work, but as a person who filmed it, I want to tell you that the roots will be the same. However, the director who drew the overall picture is different, and the actors who fill in the colors are different. Because of this, it’ll be similar yet different.“
Kang Hoon said, “I actually have a lot of unrequited love. Unrequited love seems to be inevitable depending on my personality. I can’t confess since I’m introverted. It’s over while I wait.”
The two also played a “what if” game. To the question “If your older sister asks you to lend her 5 million won, will you willingly give it to her?“, Kang Hoon replied, “I’m willing.”
When asked “What would you do if you and your close friend like the same person?“, Jeon Yeo Been caused laughter by saying coolly, “I actually experienced a situation like that in elementary school. I gave up.”
Meanwhile, Netflix’s mystery romance drama “A Time Called You” follows Jun Hee, who longs for her boyfriend who died a year ago. She slips through time to 1998 as if it were destiny and meets Si Heon, who looks just like her boyfriend, and his best friend In Gyu. It will be released on Sep 8th.
