Jeon Hye-jin sold Gangnam building at loss “Is it related to her husband Lee Sun-kyun’s drug issue?”

While Lee Sun-kyun is under suspicion of drug use, the fact that his wife Jeon Hye-jin sold a building at a loss back in May is coming into the spotlight again

According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport’s real transaction price disclosure system on Oct 23rd, Jeon Hye-jin sold a building in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul for 15 billion won in May.

Jeon Hye-jin purchased the building with 1 basement floor and 8 ground floors for 14 billion won in March last year and sold it last May.

While it may seem like she made a profit of 1 billion won by selling the building just over a year later, considering acquisition tax (at the time of purchase) and corporate tax (at the time of sale), her actual profit is estimated to be nearly non-existent.

Jeon Hye-jin’s building sale news was initially reported in June, but it is being re-examined in light of her husband Lee Sun-kyun‘s drug-related allegations and threats he suffered.

Speculation is also circulating that Jeon Hye-jin might have prepared a penalty in connection to Lee Sun-kyun’s drug issue.

In fact, “CellMed”, which had Lee Sun-kyun as a model, changed their advertising to private. Also, the children educational content brand that the couple modeled for withdrew their advertising despite having time left in the contract.

According to the police, the Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency’s Drug Crime Investigation Unit is conducting investigations into Lee Sun-kyun and 7 others for alleged violations of the Narcotics Control Act.

They are suspected of drug use at various locations in Gangnam, Seoul, including entertainment establishments and residential areas.

The police obtained information related to Lee Sun-kyun during an investigation into intelligence about drug distribution at an entertainment establishment in Gangnam.

Although Lee Sun-kyun is still a subject of investigation, the police are reported to have secured evidence related to his drug use.

Regarding this, Lee Sun-kyun’s agency HODU&U Entertainment stated, “We are confirming the allegations currently being raised against actor Lee Sun-kyun, and we intend to faithfully engage in investigations by authorities that may proceed in the future. Actor Lee Sun-kyun received constant blackmail and threats from A, a person related to the case, so we submitted a complaint to the investigative agency about it.“

According to reports by JTBC and other media outlets, those under investigation alongside Lee Sun-kyun include Hwang Hana, known as the granddaughter of Namyang Dairy Products’ founder, and former trainee Han Seo-hee.

Lee Sun-kyun is set to undergo police questioning this week.
