A music release featuring Jennie of BLACKPINK has sparked heated debate online, with many listeners expressing disappointment rather than praise. Recently, Jennie appeared on a remix of Dracula, a hit track originally released by Tame Impala in 2025. Instead of being celebrated as a bold cross-genre collaboration, the remix quickly became a focal point of criticism across social media platforms.
Shortly after the remix dropped, netizens shared sharply divided opinions. A significant number of listeners argued that Jennie’s contribution failed to enhance the song, with some claiming her vocals felt disconnected from the original track’s atmosphere. One user on X commented that her voice sounded out of place and poorly blended, criticizing the production for not properly adjusting the arrangement to integrate her part, calling the remix rushed and chaotic.

Many critics pointed out that Jennie’s signature hip-hop and R&B-oriented style does not naturally align with Tame Impala’s psychedelic soundscape. Some listeners suggested that Jennie would have been better suited to a rap-focused feature, arguing that her vocal tone struggled to merge with the dreamy, experimental vibe that defines Tame Impala’s music. Others went further, saying the collaboration itself felt mismatched from the start.

Beyond criticism aimed at Jennie, some fans directed their disappointment toward Tame Impala’s creative decision. Several comments suggested that an artist with a closer stylistic overlap—such as Dua Lipa or Ariana Grande—might have been a more fitting choice. One listener wrote that while they held no personal dislike toward Jennie, the remix did not justify its existence as a true reinterpretation of the original song. Another longtime Tame Impala fan went as far as calling it one of the group’s weakest creative choices, saying they would rather pretend the remix never happened.
Since leaving YG Entertainment at the end of 2023, Jennie has actively expanded her solo career. She founded her own agency, Odd Atelier, and signed with Columbia Records to pursue global projects. Following the release of her 2024 single Mantra, she unveiled her first solo album Ruby in 2025, collaborating with artists such as Dua Lipa, Kali Uchis, and Childish Gambino. Jennie also performed solo for the first time at Coachella 2025 before reuniting with BLACKPINK for the single JUMP and launching the group’s DEADLINE world tour, running from mid-2025 to early 2026. BLACKPINK is now set to officially return on February 27, 2026, with their mini album DEADLINE, which includes JUMP among its five tracks.

Despite the wave of criticism, the Dracula remix continues to circulate widely online, once again demonstrating Jennie’s undeniable ability to draw attention. Whether met with praise or backlash, any project associated with her name consistently becomes a major talking point, reinforcing her status as one of the most discussed figures in global pop music today.
