IVE’s Jang Won Young has once again demonstrated her confidence in the face of online criticism, responding to the recent “folded arms” controversy by posting photos of herself striking the very pose that sparked debate. Many fans praised her for confronting the criticism head-on rather than addressing it with a lengthy explanation, recalling how she similarly handled the so-called “airport mask controversy” in the past.
On July 16, Jang uploaded several new photos to her social media account without adding a caption, accompanying the post only with black heart, cat, and paw print emojis.
In the photos, the singer is seen wearing a casual gray hoodie while looking directly into the camera. What immediately caught fans’ attention, however, was her pose—standing confidently with her arms folded across her chest.
The pose comes shortly after Jang became the subject of online debate following an appearance at a theme park event. Some internet users criticized her for briefly crossing her arms, claiming it reflected a lack of manners or respect. However, many others dismissed the criticism, arguing that folding one’s arms is a natural habit and that judging someone’s personality or attitude based on such a minor gesture was an unreasonable overreaction.
