Actor Jang Dong-gun visited the funeral of legendary actor Lee Soon-jae on November 26 at Seoul Asan Hospital in Songpa-gu to pay his respects, attending alone without his wife, Ko So-young.

Wearing a mask and keeping a low profile, Jang Dong-gun recalled his past work with Lee Soon-jae, saying, “I had the opportunity to work with him. It’s truly heartbreaking.” He praised the late actor’s passion on set, noting that Lee’s dedication often exceeded that of younger actors and offered valuable lessons throughout filming.
Jang Dong-gun also mentioned that he was aware of Lee Soon-jae’s declining health in recent years. “I was supposed to see his last performance, but it was canceled. I came today to pay my respects on his final journey. I hope he rests peacefully in a good place,” he said.

Lee Soon-jae, who passed away on November 25 at age 91, was posthumously awarded the Geumgwan Order of Cultural Merit, the highest cultural honor in Korea, recognizing his lifelong contributions to the arts.
Lee Soon-jae’s funeral was held in Room 30 at Seoul Asan Hospital. The procession is scheduled for November 27 at 6:20 a.m., with the final resting place at Eden Nakwons Cemetery in Icheon.
