IVE’s Jang Wonyoung to Host KBS 2023 Year-End Festival for Second Consecutive Year, Joining Rowoon

IVE’s Jang Wonyoung is returning as KBS Gayo Daechukje MC for the second year in a row

According to OSEN on November 26th, IVE’s Jang Wonyoung is set to be the MC for the 2023 Music Bank Global Festival to be held at KBS Hall in Yeouido, Seoul on December 15.

The 2023 Music Bank Global Festival plans to take place in Japan as a concept for KBS’s year-end festival, Gayo Daechukje. KBS faced significant criticism from domestic fans when it was announced that this year’s Gayo Daechukje would be held in Japan.

In response, KBS said, “We are considering expanding the existing KBS Gayo Daechukje to Music Bank World Tour – Global Festival, targeting audiences worldwide. This way, we can not only promote the excellence and influence of our culture globally but also provide a more enriching K-pop program for the fans.”

KBS plans to present this year’s Gayo Daechukje as the 2023 Music Bank Global Festival in both Japan and Korea.

Jang Wonyoung, who hosted KBS Gayo Daechukje alongside Na In-woo and Kim Shin-young last year, will continue her role as an MC for the second consecutive year. Known for her stable hosting skills from October 8, 2021, to January 13, 2023, on KBS Music Bank, Jang Wonyoung will team up with former SF9 member and actor Rowoon as the MC partner.

Rowoon returns approximately two years after hosting KBS Gayo Daechukje in 2021. Having left SF9 recently to focus on acting, Rowoon is currently playing the role of Shim Jung-woo in KBS2’s ‘The Matchmakers.’

Meanwhile, the 2023 Music Bank Global Festival will take place on December 9 in Japan and on December 15 in Korea.
