IVE overcomes lipsyncing controversy and surprises everyone with an impressive live stage on ‘M Countdown’

Girl group IVE proved their live singing skills from the very first stage of this comeback promotion.

IVE presented the stages of their new songs “I AM” and “Kitsch” for the first time on the April 13th broadcast of Mnet’s “M Countdown”. Making three consecutive hits with “Eleven”, “Love Dive” and “After LIKE” right after their debut, IVE is expected to create another hit with this comeback.

Through the double titles “I AM” and “Kitsch” of this new album, the members overwhelmed viewers with different styles, choreographies, and vibes in each performance. Their stable live singing skills also drew keen attention. Recently, idol groups with dance songs and dynamic choreography commonly lipsync to focus on the performance, but IVE boldly challenged singing live on stage from the first promotion week.

Especially for the song “I AM”, which has lots of high notes, singer So Chan Hwi appeared on the Youtube content “MMTG” and acknowledged the clean and outstanding performance of the two members who are in charge of the high notes, Ahn Yu Jin and Liz.

Jang Won Young also found the right tone for her voice and overturned the lipsyncing controversy she experienced in the past. Both Gaeul and Leeseo showcased their stable voices and singing skills in their respective parts. Although the part distribution was recently rearranged due to the sudden activity suspension of Rei for health reasons, the members perfectly digested Rei’s lines and filled the stage.

Since IVE had received many negative responses regarding their live singing skills before, their impressive improvement in the recent stage surprised many people, including fans. Immediately after the girls completed their performance on “M Countdown”, MR removed videos of the stage spread widely on Youtube and gained huge attention.

Prior to their “M Countdown” stage, IVE also performed live in the “4cut live” content released  through the “1theK Original” channel on April 12th. The girls were also highly praised for their high-quality live singing skills and perfect high notes.

After releasing their first full album “I’ve IVE”, IVE is currently carrying out various comeback activities, starting with the “M Countdown” stage. On the 16th, they will showcase their new songs on KBS2’s music talk show “The Seasons – Park Jae Beom’s Drive”.
