While the famous Kpop girl group IVE enjoyed great popularity, they are not receiving proper treatment.
With the 2 former IZ*ONE member Jang Wonyoung and Ahn Yujin, Kpop girl group IVE has attracted attention even before their debut. Then, the group would be hailed for having “all visuals” and promptly attained huge successes. However, despite their outstanding popularity, their agency, Starship, is not treating IVE well.
Recently, a footage of IVE preparing for their comeback with “After LIKE” is drawing attention for a not-so-good reason. In particular, during the recording for their dance practice video, IVE members have to do everything by themselves, without receiving any help from the staff. As a result, Jang Wonyoung and Ahn Yujin, who had experience as IZ*ONE members, had to step up and direct the remaining members to practice, arrange, fix their mistakes, and even filmining.
In addition, the hectic schedule of IVE rouse a lot of worries from netizens. Other than promotion stages, offline and online fansigns, IVE also have to perform at so many university festivals that they are basically running a “nation-wide tour”.
IVE member Jang Wonyoung also seems to be buried in personal schedules, and she had to travel to France, prepare for her MC position at Music Bank, and film commercial deals amidst group schedules. Recently, Wonyoung returned to Korea with clear exhaustion on her face, invoking worries among her fans.
Furthermore, many people believe that Starship is “milking” the popularity of IVE without giving them proper treatment.
Despite having extremely gorgeous members, IVE’s visuals are being hindered by their makeup artists and stylists. In particular, IVE would often wear old outfits from previous promotions with “Love Dive” and “Eleven”, while the “remake” outfits would progressively look worse under their stylist’s hand.
On top of all this, the makeup of IVE members are not properly done either – with mismatched skin tones, bad color applications, and in Jang Wonyoung’s case, badly-done eyebrows that almost look like caterpillars.
Not long ago, a prank camera video of IVE was published, where a staff member would pretend to drop a cake and ask a member to cover for them. Here, Leeseo was shocked to see the staff’s accident and did not know what to do, before leaving to another spot instead of helping. While her reaction is pretty normal, it still stirred up controversies, leading to many people wondering why Starship sees it fit to not edit out Leeseo’s segment and protect her.
