IVE captivates Japan, topping Oricon, Tower Records, and Billboard Japan charts

Japan has been enchanted by the girl group IVE, who recently released their first Japanese album, “WAVE”.  

According to the latest chart announced by Oricon (as of June 8th, with the data collection period from May 29th to June 4th), IVE has achieved the top spot on the Oricon weekly album ranking with their first Japanese album, “WAVE”.

The album “WAVE”, which was released in full on May 31st, recorded an impressive feat by topping the Oricon daily album chart (from May 30th to June 5th) for seven consecutive days. Alongside this, it also topped the Tower Records comprehensive album chart (from May 29th to June 4th) and the Billboard Japan weekly Top Albums Sales chart (from May 29th to June 4th).

Meanwhile, IVE who has been dominating Japanese charts, has surpassed 10 million views on the MV of title track “Wave”, which was pre-released on May 9th of last month. Since then, the song has gained significant popularity and continues to receive love, even rising on the YouTube trending rankings.

In celebration of the release of “WAVE”, not only IVE’s advertisements but also previously released IVE’s songs are randomly being played on the streets of central Shibuya, Japan, proving IVE’s popularity in the nation.

Additionally, in Laforet Harajuku, ads featuring IVE’s visuals captivate the attention of locals. Moreover, in central Japanese areas such as Shibuya, Omotesando, and Harajuku, IVE fills the streets with ad trucks. 

On the other hand, IVE’s first Japanese album “WAVE” includes two Japanese original songs, “WAVE” and “Classic”, as well as the Japanese version of “After LIKE”, “LOVE DIVE”, and the B-side track “Take It”.

IVE is also actively promoting in Japan, appearing on prominent Japanese music shows such as “Music Station” to showcase their title track “WAVE” on stage.
