IVE Ahn Yujin suffers as her photos are edited for “face evaluation”

The behavior of people who excessively scrutinize IVE Ahn Yujin has caused netizens to furrow their brows.

On July 4th, a post titled “I tried reducing Ahn Yujin’s nasal bridge” was uploaded on an online community.

The post included a selfie of Ahn Yujin, a member of girl group IVE, which was posted on her Twitter account in June, alongside a photoshopped version.

The author of the post, A, mentioned that they were not particularly fond of Ahn Yujin’s nasal bridge, so they attempted to reduce its width using Photoshop.

A also commented, “But there doesn’t seem to be much of a difference“, and added, “Her facial features are quite distinctive, and if you look at close-up photos, it’s surprising. She must be really beautiful in person.”

While there didn’t appear to be any malicious intent, A’s post sparked discussions and evaluations of Ahn Yujin’s face in the comment section.

In particular, various netizens expressed opinions such as, “I wish her face was refined a little bit. Her physique is good, but I don’t feel a strong sense of beauty”, “The overall harmony look off due to her nose line”, and “Her jawline is not pretty”.

On the other hand, some netizens responded coldly to A, saying, “I don’t understand why they’re doing this when it’s not even about getting plastic surgery. Look at yourself in the mirror instead of finding faults with others’ noses”, and “It seems like you deliberately photoshopped her to look unattractive. Are you an intelligent anti-fan?”

Previously in April, Ahn Yujin became a hot topic due to a “photoshop attack”. At that time, an anti-fan deliberately photoshopped Ahn Yujin’s pictures in a strange way.

In particular, the anti-fan removed Ahn Yujin’s eyebrows and skillfully enlarged her nose, mouth, and overall facial shape before circulating the edited pictures in various online communities.

Meanwhile, the group IVE, which Ahn Yujin is a member of, will release a collaboration single with Pepsi, which is titled “I WANT”, on July 13th.
