On August 28, Park Geun-woo posted several photos with IU on his social media, writing: “Our leader Ji-eun. Congratulations on receiving the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award. It’s been a while since we had a two-shot in the waiting room.”
In the pictures, Park, dressed in a suit, stands behind IU, who is wearing a dress, smiling warmly as they pose together in what appears to be a backstage setting.
IU recently received the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award at the 7th Newsis K-Expo 2025, held on August 28 at Lotte Hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul.
Launched in 2019, the Newsis K-Expo recognizes individuals and companies who have contributed to the global spread and development of K-culture throughout the year, with the aim of enhancing the sustainability of Hallyu and the competitiveness of the cultural industry.
At the event, IU expressed her gratitude, saying: “I am honored to receive this award. I will continue to contribute to culture with dedication so that people all over the world can immerse themselves in K-culture, and I will work hard to show my best self.”
