IU Appeared At AKMU’s Concert As Surprise Guest

On June 16th, AKMU held the second day of “2024 AKMU 10th Anniversary Concert ‘10VE’” at KSPO DOME in Olympic Park, Songpa-gu, Seoul. The concert, which took place commemorate the 10th anniversary of AKMU’s debut, showcased AKMU’s unique music with a setlist telling the entire journey of the group’s journey during the past decade.

On the previous day of AKMU’s concert, Lee Hyo-ri came as a surprise guest and heated up the atmosphere with her performance of “U Go Girl” and “10 Minutes”. The second day featured IU as a guest, arousing enthusiastic cheers from the audience.

AKMU and IU are famous for their special friendship in the music industry. They collaborated on the song “NAKKA” and AKMU also guested at IU’s concert. IU also kept her loyalty with her guest appearance this time.

Showing up on the stage with an introduction saying “This is a congratulation song for AKMU”, IU sang “Meaning of You”. She skillfully hyped the crowd with her energy and made everyone sing together loudly.

Expressing her affection for AKMU, IU then shared, “You guys filled this place without an empty seat. This is so cool. I’m a fan of AKMU and I also want to sit among the audience and watch your performances. However, I ended up coming here as a guest for their first concert. It’s been 10 years since your debut and I’m so honored to be able to stand here as a guest even for a short time. I really admire them”, adding “I’ve been watching these friends since they were 16 and 19. So I want to congratulate them on having become representative musicians of Korea and filling this stadium”.

IU then said, “I listened to all the songs they sang from the beginning of the concert. The performances were all great and the audience also sang so loudly. They also delivered great speeches. My concert is also fun so please come next time”, adding “I’m a little sad that I couldn’t join when you sang ‘NAKKA’”.

IU finished her stage at AKMU’s concert after performing two songs, including “Blueming”.
