IU and BLACKPINK defeated, the girl group topping January’s brand reputation is….

The identity of the girl group that beat IU and BLACKPINK to occupy the ‘1st place’ brand reputation in January.

The Korea Corporate Reputation Research Institute analyzed 134,802,244 big data of singer brands from December 21st, 2022 to January 21st, 2023, and analyzed consumers’ brand participation, media, communication, and community of these brands. This is a 7.91% decrease  compared to 146,386,239 singer brand big data in December.

According to this analysis, the Top 30 singer brand reputation ranking in January 2023, in respective order, are NewJeans, Lim Young Woong, BTS, BLACKPINK, IU, Lee Young Ji, Lee Chan Won, IVE, Kim Ho Joong, Young Tak, (G)I-DLE, SEVENTEEN, EXO, Jung Dong Won, Girls’ Generation (SNSD), LE SSERAFIM, Red Velvet, NCT, Song Gain, Younha, Kang Daniel, aespa, TWICE, Jay Park, Taeyeon, Jang Min Ho, BIGBANG, Sung Si Kyung, Zico, and Jung Eunji. 

The NewJeans brand has a brand reputation index of 11,901,458, including 2,966,527 for the  participation index, 3,804,768 for the media index, 2,473,295 for the communication index, and 2,656,867 for the community index. This is a 26.51% rise compared to last December’s brand reputation index.

Lim Young Woong, who came in 2nd place, has a brand reputation index of 9,062,863, including 2,310,367 for the participation index, 2,056,562 for the media index, 2,387,148 for the communication index, and 2,308,787 for the community index

In 3rd place is BTS, with a brand reputation index of 6,980,796, participation index of 925,459, media index of 2,257,979, communication index of 1,992,006, and community index of 1,805,352.

BLACKPINK and IU fell in 4th and 5th place, respectively, making NewJeans the highest-ranked female artist. 

Regarding January’s ranking, Koo Chang Hwan, director of the Korea Corporate Reputation Research Institute, said, “The New Jeans brand, which creates strong music consumption, is ranked 1st, the Lim Young Woong brand, which showcases various music colors, comes 2nd, and the BTS brand, which creates steady participation through individual activities, assumes 3rd place. Meanwhile, the brand of BLACKPINK, who are doing global concert activities, ranked 4th, and the IU brand, which generated a lot of interest from consumers, ranked 5th.”
