It’s not “Signal 2” but… Viewers are looking forward to writer Kim Eun-hee’s “Devil” starring Kim Tae-ri x Oh Jung-se
It is disappointing news for enthusiastic fans who have been waiting for “Signal” season 2, but it is great news for fans who love Kim Eun-hee’s work widely. Writer Kim Eun-hee once again united with trustworthy actors.
On the morning of Sep 21st, the news of the production of Kim Eun-hee’s new work “Devil (working title)” was reported, causing a stir online. This work is an occult mystery thriller in which a woman possessed by evil spirits and a man who can see evil spirits dig into mysterious deaths surrounding five different bodies in another world with evil spirits when the door is opened.
The production news was first announced with the aim of airing in 2023, but when you look at the cast lineup, you will nod your head as to why people wanted to spread rumors. This is because trustworthy actors Kim Tae-ri and Oh Jung-se were the first to be cast. Fans’ expectations are high on the news that they are two main characters on writer Kim Eun-hee’s boat.
In “Devil”, Kim Tae-ri plays Goo San-young, a student who will take the civil service examination. She works part-time during the day, studies at night and prepares for the 9th-grade civil servant examination for N years. After receiving her deceased father’s belongings, she gets embroiled in mysterious deaths that occur around her and gradually changes into a different appearance.
Oh Jung-se, who worked with writer Kim Eun-hee in “Jirisan”, plays Yeom Hae-sang with special abilities. He is the son of a wealthy family and is a folklore professor. He has the ability to see devils and gods. After knowing Goo San-young, he once again sees the evil spirit that killed his mother in front of his eyes when he was young.
In the meantime, Kim Eun-hee has written a box office myth with a detailed storyline for each work she writes, such as “Sign”, “Phantom”, “Signal” and “Kingdom”. Among them, “Signal”, which aired in January 2016, is a well-made masterpiece that combines Kim Eun-hee’s weapons. Fortunately (?), it ended with an open ending, so fans are eagerly waiting for season 2.
Earlier, writer Kim Eun-hee talked about “Signal” season 2, “‘Signal’ is a really special work. Actors and staff are also very affectionate. However, season 2 is only possible when there’s a good script. We need a better script to do it again with these people.”
