On April 9, I.O.I’s official social media channels released a special teaser video captioned: “Back to 2016. Will you come to I.O.I’s concert or not?” The clip instantly captured fans’ attention, showing members gathered in a practice studio rehearsing the choreography for their breakout anthem, “Pick Me.”

In the video, the members faithfully recreated their unforgettable 2016 styling, wearing matching pink sweatshirts, black dolphin shorts, and knee-high socks the exact look that defined their early Produce 101 era.

As the group lined up and launched into synchronized choreography, fans were transported back to the height of I.O.I’s debut days, when their sharp precision and youthful energy first captivated audiences across Korea and beyond.

The emotional reaction online was immediate. Fans flooded comment sections with responses such as:

  • It feels exactly like back then.
  • This is making me cry.
  • It really feels like they debuted again.

Despite years apart pursuing solo careers, the members’ chemistry, polished teamwork, and unchanged charisma drew praise from longtime supporters who were thrilled to see the group’s signature energy remain intact.

I.O.I was originally formed in 2016 through Mnet’s hit survival show Produce 101, becoming one of K-pop’s most beloved temporary project groups. The group went on to release major hits including “Dream Girls” and “Very Very Very,” leaving a lasting legacy despite their limited promotional period.

The reunion comes as I.O.I prepares for their long-awaited comeback this May. The group has reportedly already completed jacket photography and music video filming.

However, not all members will participate in this round of promotions: Kang Mina and Kyulkyung are unable to join due to scheduling conflicts.

I.O.I will officially kick off their comeback activities with a three-night Seoul concert run from April 29 to May 31 at Jamsil Indoor Stadium, followed by an Asia tour including stops in Bangkok and Hong Kong.

For many fans, the return of “Pick Me” is more than just a nostalgic performance—it is a rare chance to relive one of K-pop’s most cherished eras.
